About
Govt. degree college kapkote was established in 5th November 2005 near a hamlet called Ason under Kapkote- Block in Bageshwar district in the fringe of the Himalayas on the left bank of river Saryu in the state of Uttarakhand.
The state govt. has imaginative and effective resource mobilisation and management strategies for its development. The college follows the policy of state govt., university (kumaun university)and all the rules and regulations of UGC for admission, teaching- learning schedule, syllabi, other academic/co-curricular activities and examination for the orderly implementation/enhancement of education at the institute. The university awards degrees to the successful candidates at different levels concerning respective courses.

- Ushering the learners from the remotest parts of India in the main stream of education through advanced means(smart classes, digital library etc.)so that a step forward may be put to incarnate the global concept of holistic vision /wisdom.
Mission
Developing of manpower by creation and dissemination of knowledge and skills in conventional and frontier areas through teaching and learning, research, extension and consultancy with a high level of competence and deep sense of ethics committed to excellence, promotion of art, science and culture in order to make Uttarakhand a state contributing significantly to national development by making a niche among the renowned universities of the world as a hub and centre of wisdom.
Infrastructure
Administrative and academic blocks of main building are to be completed by next academic session, smart-classes, staff –rooms, well-equipped labs and other facilities under the RUSA grant for construction work/new facilities will be provided to the students by next academic session. The college consists of a library abounding in the text books useful for students according to their syllabi and journals, reviews, magazines are to be obtained through the grant of RUSA /departmental grant both for college library and reading room.
At present approx 5000 books of different subjects are available for the students.
Departments:
Hindi, English Sanskrit, Home Science, Drawing and Painting, History, Economics, Sociology, Education, Political Science are the subjects under the faculty of arts taught at graduation level in the institute.
For commencement of PG classes the panel/inspection by the university has been completed and the posts have been created in Hindi Sanskrit, Drawing and painting and Home science.
Moreover Uttarakhand state govt. has accepted the proposal of starting physics, chemistry, mathematics, zoology, botany, information technology under the head of science stream and geology and tourism under humanity after having consummated the requisite formalities.

S. C. S. S. Govt. Degree college, Kapkote (District:Bageshwar) was established in the year 2005. Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, History, Drawing & Painting, Home science & Education are being taught at graduation level in this college. At present the college is running in 8 rooms provided by Ason Inter college & an adjoining building provided by government. Administrative & Academic Block , Conference Hall cum Computer Lab buildings of the college are under construction and likely to get ready by next session.
In the last academic session 2016-17 the college enrolled total 274 students in different undergraduate classes out of which 73 were boys & 201 Were girls. It shows that about 73 percent of the total enrolment has been of girl-students so far. Subjects like English, Drawing & Painting and Home Science are proving useful to students for making their career particularly fructifying the primary vision of the institute to provide the students with job- oriented education. Government- order regarding commencement of Post graduate classes in Hindi, Sanskrit, Drawing & Painting and Home science in this college has been released but affiliation to the university & permission of admission in this respect are still awaited.
At present this college is having no vacancy in office staff against the sanctioned posts. The college is having total 09 faculties, one working in each department. Department of History is having no faculty right now but subject teaching is being performed by the Research Scholars & the Principal. Faculty- members are always devotedly engaged to impart wisdom both in respect of curricular & co-curricular activities. Office staff is always to complete time-bound tasks. Co-curricular activities like N.S.S. , N.C.C. , Sports, Cultural & Dramatics, Career Counselling Cell, Women Grievance Cell, Anti-Ragging Cell, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan etc. are providing enough opportunities of personality development to the students. Study centre of Uttrakhand Open University is also performing the task of admission, study & examination efficaciously.

- In the academic session of 2008-09 one student toped university at graduation level.
- Many students having completed their study at the institute are serving in different government and Pvt. Sectors.
- Selected NSS volunteers have participated in different congregating camps held at national level at different states of india.
- In kabbadi , kho-kho and cricket students have been selected at inter –university level and for north zone, opportunities are abundant for the further sports activities; since a standard play ground is under construction.
