Bageshwar is a town and a municipal board in Bageshwar district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is located at a distance of 470 km from the National Capital New Delhi and 332 km from the State Capital Dehradun. Bageshwar is known for its scenic environment, glaciers, rivers, mountains and temples.

The town of Bageshwar is situated at the confluence of the holy Saryu and Gomti rivers and is associated with Lord Shiva, the savior of all sins. According to the Purans, this is undoubtedly a place where man can be liberated from the eternal bondage of birth and death. Surrounded by the Bhileshwar and Nileshwar mountains in the east and west, Suraj Kund in the north and Agni Kund in the south, this land of Lord Shankar has great religious, historical and political significance.
